Kenna new head of Panama Canal Railway Co.

Kenna new head of Panama Canal Railway Co. Thomas H. Kenna has been promoted to president and director general of the Panama Canal Railway Co. (PCRC), an equally owned joint venture company of Kansas City Southern (KCS) and Mi-Jack Products Inc. that operates a 47-mile railroad adjacent to the Panama Canal.

   Kenna joined PCRC in 2000 and was most recently director of marketing. He started his new role on July 1 replacing David L. Starling, who left PCRC to assume the position of president and chief operating officer of KCS.
   “Tom has been an important part of PCRC's success over the last seven years,” said Mi-Jack President and Co-Chairman of PCRC, Michael Lanigan. “His marketing and sales efforts have been prime factors in PCRC's annual freight volumes moving from approximately 16,000 containers in 2001, the first year of operations, to nearly 225,000 in 2007.”
   Lanigan added that PCRC expects to move approximately 363,000 containers in 2008.
