ITC continues paper dumping investigation

The U.S. International Trade Commission’s antidumping and countervailing duty investigation is focused on imports from Australia, Brazil, China, Indonesia and Portugal.    The U.S. International Trade Commission said there is “reasonable indication” that domestic manufacturers of uncoated paper are harmed by similar imports from Australia, Brazil, China, Indonesia and Portugal, which are allegedly being sold in the United States at less than fair value and are allegedly subsidized by the governments of China and Indonesia.
   As a result of the ITC’s decision, the Commerce Department will also continue to conduct its investigation into these imports from Australia, Brazil, China, Indonesia and Portugal, with its preliminary countervailing duty determination due by April 16, and its antidumping duty determination due by June 30.
   The ITCs public report, Certain Uncoated Paper from Australia, Brazil, China, Indonesia, and Portugal (Investigation Nos. 701-TA-528-529 and 731-TA-1264-1268 (Preliminary), Publication 4522, March 2015), due for release by April 6, will contain the commission’s views and information developed during the investigations, the agency said.
