Schenker moves into new headquarters

DB Schenker has officially opened its new headquarters at the Frankfurt Airport.
The development has space for 500 workers, and a little more than 400 employees from Schenker’s European rail operations and the company’s transportation and logistics division moved in on Aug. 19. The rest — employees from the European Operations Center and DB Rail’s Cargo Control Center — will start working at the new building in November.
“Our new DB Schenker headquarters marks the first time we are consolidating management of the Transportation and Logistics Division and the European headquarters of our rail freight transport company in a single location,” DB’s Karl-Friedrich Rausch said in a statement. “Not only will the move make our operations even more effective in the future, we are also sending a clear signal of Frankfurt’s importance as an international logistics hub.” – Jon Ross
