Southern Wine president named to board

Southern Wine president named to board Mel Dick, president of the wine division in Miami, and senior vice president of Southern Wine & Spirits of America Inc., has been named to the North American board of directors of Britain's Institute of Masters of Wine.
   Southern Wine & Spirits is a major importer and exporter in Florida, and is part of a 27-state distribution network.
   Commenting on Dick's role with IMW, board president Mary Ewing Mulligan said: 'We have always thought as a North American organization, that the key to raising the level of professional excellence in the American wine trade is through the distributor tier, and we want to include them in our overall efforts, so who else to invite to join us than Mel, a respected professional of great experience in the wine business.'
