UPS chief Eskew selected as China trade advocate    The U.S.-China Business Council, a trade promotion group representing several hundred U.S. companies, elected UPS chairman and chief executive officer Michael Eskew, to chair the organization. Eskew, previously vice chairman, succeeds Christopher Galvin, formerly chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola Inc.
   UPS has made growth in China and the Asia-Pacific region a top priority in recent years, expanding services and its network of distribution centers. The integrated logistics and parcel delivery company gained China air operating rights in 2001 and is expected to triple sales this year to $300 million, the company said.
   “The amount of business being done by our customers with China is growing exponentially and it’s a critically important market to UPS,” Eskew said in a statement. “A forum like the U.S.-China Business Council plays a critical role in helping American businesses understand China’s growing role in world trade.”
