Henningsen to build 5m-cubic-foot cold storage warehouse in Washington

Construction of the Grandview, Wash. temperature-controlled warehousing facility will begin shortly and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2018, Oregon-based public refrigerated warehousing firm Henningsen Cold Storage Co. said in a statement.    One of the largest public refrigerated warehousing companies in the U.S., Oregon-based Henningsen Cold Storage Co., plans to build a 5 million-cubic-foot, temperature-controlled warehouse in Grandview, Wash., the company confirmed Nov. 10.
   The start of construction on the new cold storage facility is imminent, the company said, with completion expected in the summer of 2018.
   The site is located near the eastern border of Yakima County in south-central Washington state, and is halfway between the city of Yakima and the Tri-Cities of Richland, Pasco and Kennewick, according to Henningsen.
   “It is in the heart of a thriving agri-business region and is an excellent distribution point to services customers throughout the entire Pacific Northwest,” the company explained in a statement.
   The new location, Henningsen said, will offer over 20,000 pallet positions, with a variety of configurations and temperature ranges, and is designed to accommodate both production support and high-volume distribution business.
   Other features of the facility include a flexible racking design and layout. Henningsen also said it expects to augment the operation by offering local, regional and nationwide transportation services to manufacturers, retail and foodservice distributors, as well as international customers utilizing the new facility.
