Maersk slows second Asia-ISC service

   The shipping company Maersk Line has slowed another loop between the Indian Subcontinent and Asia.
   Round voyage time on its FM3 service has increased from 42 days to 49 days. The FM3 will also skip one sailing position commencing Pipavav on Feb 17.
   Transit times eastbound to China and South Korea from the Indian Subcontinent on the FM3 have increased by about seven days as vessels slow steam one extra week back to Singapore and Xingang. Maersk recently slowed its Asia-Bengal CHX loop, which has six Maersk vessels averaging 4,233 TEUs, in a similar fashion, .
   The FM3 is also operated with six vessels, five from Maersk and one from CMA CGM, with an average capacity of 6,158 TEUs. Maersk subsidiary Safmarine takes slots on the service.
   The rotation of the FM3 service remains Pipavav, Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Xingang, Gwangyang, Busan, Ningbo, Nansha, Tanjung Pelepas, Colombo, and Pipavav.
   Maersk has no other services that call Pipavav from Asia, but the carrier purchases slots on the joint Evergreen, Simatech, and OOCL service AGI, which calls Colombo and Karachi to and from Southeast Asia, as well as the “K” Line, Evergreen, and Simatech service CIX2, which calls Colombo and Nhava Sheva to and from China and Southeast Asia. — ComPair Data, Ben Meyer
