The company was formed earlier this year when Bob Burke and the New York investment bank AMA Capital Partners’ ACP Fund II acquired the company from MT Maritime Management. MT continues to provide the technical management of the company’s ships.
Burke is chief executive officer of the company. A former employee at GE Capital and Great Circle Capital, he is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point.
Jack Noonan, formerly president of Clipper Wonsild Tankers, Inc., is chief operating officer of Chembulk.
Walt Bromfield is chief financial officer of the company. He comes to the company from Maritrans Inc., where he spent 25 years, the last five as CFO and secretary. Maritrans, an operator of Jones Act tank barges, was sold last year to Overseas Shipholding Group.
Dan Dahlgard, is vice president of operations, and had a 28-year career at Stolt-Nielsen, most recently as operations manager, Pacific Ocean services.
Donna Madden, who also worked at GE Capital, is Chembulk’s office manager.
The Chembulk fleet comprises 15 chemical tankers, with another to be delivered next month and three more next year.
