Ohio proposes heavier truck    Ohio transportation officials want to raise weight limits for trucks with sealed export containers to 94,000 pounds from 80,000 pounds, according to the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, which is criticizing the proposal.
   'The federal highway system was designed with 80,000-pound weight limits in mind. Boosting the limits above that would conflict with what's allowable under federal law,' Todd Spencer, OOIDA's executive vice president, was quoted in Land Line, its in-house publication.
   OOIDA said the change would apply only to intrastate operations using select state highways, not interstate highways, and Spencer said those roads “were never designed for hauling these heavier loads.'
   The state wants to make the change to boost exports such as corn and soybeans.
