Seago amends intra-Europe rotations

Seago amends intra-Europe rotations    Seago Line, the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group's intra-Europe specialist carrier, said this week it is making changes to two of its services.
   The line has started a new service, dubbed Aegean Sea, to replace its existing Scanmed service. The service links Turkey, Greece and Spain with northern Europe.
   The changes will see Scanmed calls in Gothenburg, Aarhus and Malta dropped, with the Scandinavian market served instead by a Seago-operated feeder linking Gothenburg and Aarhus with Bremerhaven. The Italian market, served through Malta, will instead be linked to Seago's network via Algeciras and Port Said.
   Seago said the changes would help significantly improve transit times for exports from the United Kingdom and for imports to Belgium.
   The rotation of the new Aegean Sea service is Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Piraeus, Gebze, Ambarli, Gemlik, Izmir, Valencia and Felixstowe.
   The rotation of the to-be-cut Scanmed service is Gothenburg, Aarhus, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Malta, Piraeus, Ambarli, Izmit Korfezi, Gemlik, Izmir, Malta, Valencia, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven and Gothenburg.
   Seago is also changing the rotation on its Eurolev service. The line will add an Algeciras call to improve west Mediterranean coverage to North Europe. In addition, Felixstowe will be called before Bremerhaven, to help improve transit time for imports to the United Kingdom and for exports from Germany and Belgium.
   The Eurolev will also drop calls at Le Havre, with connections to the Seago network to be secured through slot purchases from Maersk Line.
As part of the changes the Eurolev will no longer call Le Havre and connections to the Seago Line network will instead be secured through slot purchases from Maersk Line.
   The revised Eurolev rotation is Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Algeciras, Alexandria, Port Said, Beirut, Mersin, Port Said, Tangiers, Algeciras and Felixstowe.
