Jamian to head newly formed Seaway Great Lakes Trade Association

Jamian to head newly formed Seaway Great Lakes Trade Association    John Jamian, former deputy administrator for the U.S. Maritime Administration, has been picked to lead the newly formed Seaway Great Lakes Trade Association.
   Based in Michigan, the association will promote shipping and maritime interests on the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway System. The organization will receive start-up support from Federal Marine Terminals and the American Great Lakes Ports Association.
   “I hope to foster a better appreciation of the advantages that shipping brings to the economy and well being of Great Lakes states, citizens, businesses and legislators,” Jamian said in a statement.
   In addition to his federal government experience, Jamian previously served six years as a representative in the Michigan legislature. He also served as executive director of the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority.
