Quantrill takes top job at BIFA

Quantrill takes top job at BIFA The British International Freight Association has concluded its prolonged search for a successor to Colin Beaumont by naming Peter Quantrill as its new director general.
Quantrill was an executive vice president of Menlo Forwarding with joint responsibility for the company and a board member of its parent company Menlo Worldwide. Menlo Forwarding was acquired by UPS Supply Chain Services in 2004.
In February, BIFA called in a recruitment firm to help it find someone to fill the role after Quentin Rappoport, its original choice to replace Beaumont, resigned as director general (designate) in October last year, resulting in Beaumont postponing his planned retirement.
“His challenge will be to continue to develop BIFA's four key objectives — representation and lobbying, the provision of advice and information, promotion and training — objectives to which our outgoing director general has made a major contribution,” said BIFA National Chairman, Philip Stephenson.
“As the established representative body for the international freight industry, we expect Peter to continue to provide the sort of leadership that will help our members secure their development in the global economy against a background of ever changing customer demands and new legislation,” added Stephenson.
