Tennessee NVO implements CargoSphere rate system

WorldBridge Logistics will use CargoSphere’s rate management platform and sharing tool Rate Mesh to quote more quickly and accurately across its network and global agent partners.    The freight rate management software provider said this week that Nashville, Tenn.-based non-vessel-operating common carrier WorldBridge Logistics, Inc., has implemented its rate management system and Rate Mesh network.
   CargoSphere allows WorldBridge to compare rates and transit times from their own carrier contracts, as well as rates from trusted agent partners, such as the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America and co-loaders to more quickly generate customized customer quotes.
   The system also allows WorldBridge to measure their quoting success and failure rates, and keep track of open quotes.
   “Our hope is that eventually carriers will offer the option to upload contract amendments directly into CargoSphere,” said Andreas Ritchie, director of procurement for WorldBridge parent V. Alexander & Co., Inc. “We’d also like to pursue Rate Mesh connections with our primary agents abroad for faster data exchange.”
   The CargoSphere implementation also includes WorldBridge self-managing ocean carrier contracts and amendments with CargoSphere’s SUDS (smart upload and diagnostic solution) solution and self-publishing Federal Maritime Commission tariff rates.
