Revenue for the quarter ending Dec. 31 was $479 million, up 18 percent from the year-earlier period on a 12 percent increase in carloadings.
Revenue growth was experienced across all commodity groups, the company said. Automotive revenue climbed 41 percent over fourth quarter 2009 as a combination of strong pricing and new cross border vehicle routings. Coal revenue increased 31 percent on improved contract pricing which took effect at the beginning of 2010. Intermodal revenue was up 28 percent on a volume increase of 24 percent.
