Fittipaldi Logistics signs deal with Qualcomm

Fittipaldi Logistics signs deal with Qualcomm Logistics software firm Fittipaldi Logistics Wednesday announced a deal with San Diego, Calif.-based telecom giant Qualcomm to provide mobile data interchange.
   The deal will allow Fittipaldi to disseminate freight load and available truck information through a variety of data exchanges and interfaces. This information, according to Fittipaldi, will greatly enhance asset utilization and fleet management capabilities for joint customers. The system will operate through the Boca Raton, Fla.-based firm's proprietary Emmologic software.
   The system will allow joint customers to post available assets and loads for near-real-time information to manage, solicit and provide reporting for carrier organizations. Fittipaldi Logistics will host and manage the on-demand, Web-based application on dedicated servers.
   Financial details of the deal were not released.
