Hellmann will use the software to automate and simplify complex zone-related data management, deadlines and reporting for its zones across the United States, with multiple customers in each zone.
The U.S. Foreign Trade Zone program allows customers the potential to defer, reduce, or even eliminate customs duties on products admitted into the zone.
Hellmann will use GTKonnect’s FTZ software for end-to-end management of zone requirements at its zones across the United States. The software will help Hellmann with various tasks, such as in-bonds, receipts, admissions, approvals for activities in the zone, weekly estimates, fees and end-of-year reporting, the company said.
Hellmann currently operates two active Foreign Trade Zones in the United States in Indianapolis and Miami, and is scheduled to open zones in Fort Lauderdale, Fla; Newark, N.J.; and San Diego.
“As our customers’ logistics partner, Hellmann believes our solutions reflect a unique understanding of the trade and logistics industry, with its accompanied regulatory complexities,” said Mark Sola, vice president of customs brokerage and import trade compliance for Hellmann. “Because of our history in the market, we are continuing to develop solutions to meet these evolving needs. With complex zone requirements, we look forward to utilizing GTKonnect to help with compliance visibility, data management, and automation of our zone activities as well as to provide even more efficiencies.”
