Hong Kong-based Cargo Services opens shop in U.S.    Hong Kong-based Cargo Services Far East, a logistics service provider based in Hong Kong, has set up a U.S. division called CS International Logistics (USA) LLC, based in Los Angeles.
   Founded in Hong Kong in 1990, Cargo Services said its new U.S. arm will provide supply chain management services for U.S. companies trading in China. It has appointed Sam Schotsky chief executive of CS International Logistics (USA).
   Cargo Services has 19 owned and operated offices in China with a staff of nearly 2,000. It said it holds class A forwarder, non-vessel-operating common carrier and domestic logistics licenses in China, as well as an air transport qualification certificate, allowing the company to offer complete logistics services in China without any intermediary.
   Cargo Services handled 250,000 TEUs and 13,500 metric tons of air cargo in 2003, the company said.
   The Hong Kong-based company has recently opened offices in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
