APL establishes Lithuanian subsidiary

APL establishes Lithuanian subsidiary    Singapore-based APL has opened its own agency organization in Lithuania, APL Agencies UAB, located in Klaipeda.
   Some staff from APL’s previous local agency JSC Kontransa are transferring to the new company, including Diana Utkeviciute, who will now become country manager of APL Lithuania.
   APL has been active in Lithuania since 2001 and serves the country by connecting Klaipeda over the German ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven, in partnership with European short-sea carrier Team Lines.
   “With the support of our agency colleagues APL is successfully developing its own organizational network across this Northeast Europe region,” said David Appleton, APL President for the Europe region.
   “Our own offices enable us to offer customers enhanced service opportunities and communications possibilities, especially online booking, documentation and customer service tools, that reduce cost and improve efficiency,” he added.
