U.S. shippers head to Poland    The U.S.-Poland Business Council will hold a business mission in Warsaw, Poland on Oct. 18-19.
   The mission will mark the official launch of the council, with the intent to further develop the bilateral economic and commercial relationship between the United States and Poland.
   The Washington-based council was founded in the summer by 17 U.S. multinational companies: AES Corp., Boeing, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Eli Lilly, ExxonMobil, Fluor Corp., International Paper, Marathon Oil, Owens-Illinois, PHRMA, Raytheon, The Shaw Group, Smithfield Foods, The Timken Co., US Steel and Westinghouse Electric Co.
   Meetings during the two-day mission will include discussions of bilateral market access restrictions and European Commission regulations and policies.
   'Poland was the only country in the European Union to experience positive economic growth in the past year and is well positioned to take the helm of the Presidency of the European Council beginning in July 2011,' said Eric Stewart, president of the U.S.-Poland Business Council, in a statement.
