AMERICAN GLOBAL LOGISTICS ENTERS ATLANTIC TRADE

AMERICAN GLOBAL LOGISTICS ENTERS ATLANTIC TRADE    American Global Logistics Inc., a New York-based warehousing company that operates multipurpose ocean services, said that it will enter the transatlantic shipping trade in May.
   The service will employ three multipurpose ‘tweendecker vessels, each with a capacity of 1,100 TEUs.
   The carrier has not released the itinerary of its new Atlantic link, but said that it will provide fortnightly service between the U.S. East Coast and continental Europe.
   The operations will be handled by American Global Logistics’ offices in New York and Montreal. The company said that it has not yet appointed agents in the United States and Canada.
   American Global Logistics is the first carrier to enter the highly competitive transatlantic trade for about two years. Several Atlantic carriers pulled out of the trade earlier this year and in 1999 because of poor financial results.
