NYK acquires 100% of NYK Line (Vietnam) Co. Ltd.

NYK Line (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK as of Sept. 28, 2015.    NYK Line (Vietnam) Co. Ltd., which was established nearly nine years ago as a joint-venture maritime transport agency between Japanese ocean carrier NYK (equity 51 percent) and the maritime transport agency VOSA Group of Companies (equity 49 percent), became a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Sept. 28, NYK said.
   The Japanese ocean carrier purchased VOSA’s shares and the Vietnamese government granted approval for NYK Line (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. to become a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK.
   The NYK Group transports approximately 300,000 TEUs to and from Vietnam each year through 12 direct liner services. In addition, NYK also serves Vietnam with bulk shipping services through the transportation of a wide range of cargo such as coal, wood chips and industrial plant facilities.
   Based out of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the VOSA Group of Companies acts as a port agent, a clearing and forwarding agent, and provides benefits for international shipowners, operators charterers and all other clients.
