Maersk, Safmarine quit U.S./Brazil discussion agreement

Maersk, Safmarine quit U.S./Brazil discussion agreement    Maersk Sealand and its sister company Safmarine are leaving the East Coast of South America Discussion Agreement, a carrier group in the U.S./East Coast of South America trade.
   However, A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, parent company of the two shipping lines, remains a member of the carrier group.
   The change was notified to the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission.
   The remaining carriers of the discussion agreement are: A.P. Moller-Maersk; Compania Sud Americana de Vapores and its subsidiaries Libra and Montemar; Hamburg-Sud and its subsidiary Alianca; APL; CMA CGM; Evergreen Marine; Lykes Lines; Mediterranean Shipping Co.; and P&O Nedlloyd.
