Proposed northern Moroccan port receives $374,000 U.S. security grant    The U.S. Trade and Development Agency has awarded a $374,000 grant to help develop international safety and security standards at a new port complex in northern Morocco.
   In particular, the grant will fund technical assistance through the Tangier Mediterranean Special Agency (TMSA) in areas of International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and Container Security Initiative (CSI) compliance.
   Working under an agreement with the Moroccan government, TMSA, a private Moroccan company, is charged with the design, development, and operation of the Tangier-Mediterranean Project, which consists of a deep-sea harbor, logistics, and industrial free zones, and a customs processing center.
   Opportunity to perform the technical assistance will be completed on the U.S. Federal Business Opportunities Web site at https://www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested U.S. firms should submit proposals directly to the TMSA for consideration, following the instructions in the Federal Business Opportunities announcement. TMSA will select the U.S. contactor that will provide the technical assistance.
   The primary purpose of USTDA is to help advance economic development and U.S. commercial interests in developing and middle-income countries. In carrying out this objective, USTDA gives emphasis to economic sectors that may benefit from U.S. exports of goods and services.
