Tropical Shipping starting new demurrage schedule in Caribbean    Tropical Shipping will begin a new demurrage schedule at several Caribbean locations effective March 12 in an effort to improve equipment turn times.
   Customers will have five days of free time for refrigerated containers, and then start paying a charge of $75 a day for 20-foot containers and $100 a day for 40-foot containers. The charges apply to weekends and holidays, as well as standard business days.
   For dry containers, customers will have 12 days a free time. Tropical will then begin assessing charges ranging from $25 to $50 per day, depending on the specific types of equipment.
   Tropical said the demurrage program will be in effect for islands in the Eastern Caribbean, plus French Guiana, Guyana, and the British Virgin Islands.
