Global Institute of Logistics names Palem, Longbotham board advisors

Global Institute of Logistics names Palem, Longbotham board advisors New York-based Global Institute of Logistics, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to optimizing the supply chain, has appointed Srikanth Palem, chief executive officer and founder of Indian IT firm Four Soft Ltd., and Steve Longbotham of Marine Terminals Corp. to its recently formed Global Board of Advisors.
   The institute said that it will work closely with Palem on a number of initiatives beginning with a feasibility study for an online portal for the global maritime logistics community available to all stakeholders that could manage the progress of containers throughout the supply chain.   
   Longbotham has been working with GIL on its Container Terminal Quality Indicator (CTQI) standard, a performance benchmarking tool the institute is developing alongside German classification society Germanischer Lloyd and other partners.
   It was also announced that GIL will provide accreditation to Four Soft's Logistics Certification program.
