iGPS files suit against wood pallet group

iGPS files suit against wood pallet group    Intelligent Global Pooling Systems this week filed a lawsuit against the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association for 'false, malicious and defamatory statements' related to Dec. 8 press release.
   In the press release, the association urged that iGPS plastic pallets be investigated for possibly contaminating butter in the Dallas area with a fire retardant chemical. iGPS said its pallets were not connected with the butter shipper.
   According to iGPS's complaint, filed in the District Court of Dallas County, Texas, 'NWPCS's misconduct has irreparably harmed iGPS by, among other things, causing harm to iGPS's reputation, lost future business, harm to good will, and the cost of defending against a defamatory release.'
   The war of words between the wood pallet group and iGPS has been brewing for several years, as both sides defend the cost, integrity, environmental friendly and sanitary aspects of wood versus plastic pallets.
