Bernuth sets Barbados rate hike

Bernuth sets Barbados rate hike Bernuth Lines said it would implement a general rate increase for its services to and from Barbados, effective March 18.
   Bernuth, which offers sailings from its private Miami terminal, said the rate hike was originally planned for March 11, but was set back one week. The GRI will be $75 for 20-foot dry and reefer equipment, $150 for 40-foot dry and reefer equipments, and $180 for 45-foot equipment. Less-than-containerload shipments will see an increase of 9 cents per cubit foot or 18 cents per 100 pounds, depending on the weight/measure units in a shipper's contract.
   Bernuth said the rate hike is being implemented because of rising costs associated with Barbados services.
