DP World says Vietnam terminal to open in October

DP World says Vietnam terminal to open in October Global ports operator DP World said it plans an opening ceremony for its new container terminal in Vietnam on Oct. 1.
   The Saigon Premier Container Terminal, a joint venture with Vietnamese firm IPC, is located on the Soai Rap River about 10 miles south of Ho Chi Minh City.
   Terminal operators and the Vietnamese government are building several new container ports to take advantage of the country's growing economy and new export manufacturing capabilities. Older, smaller river terminals on the Dong Nai and Saigon rivers are scheduled for closure during the next several years.
