CMA CGM confirms launch of direct Asia/Black Sea/East Med service

CMA CGM confirms launch of direct Asia/Black Sea/East Med service    CMA CGM is starting a direct weekly Asia/Black Sea/East Mediterranean service in mid-September that will compete head-on with a separate new service in the same trade announced recently by Mediterranean Shipping Co.
   CMA CGM said its independent weekly service will deploy seven ships of about 2,300-TEU capacity. They will call at Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Chiwan, Port Klang, Port Said, Piraeus, Istanbul, Constantza, Odessa, Illychevsk, Port Sa'd, Port Klang and Ningbo. The first sailing is scheduled at Ningbo on Sept. 14.
   Mediterranean Shipping’s “Tiger Service,” scheduled to start on Oct. 7, will call at Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Istanbul, Illychevsk, Constantza, Izmir, Jeddah, Singapore and Shanghai.
