Cathay moves 9.3% more freight in November Cathay Pacific carried 109,413 tons of freight in November, up 9.3 percent from the same month last year.
   The Hong Kong-based airline's cargo volume growth was above a 7.8 percent rise in capacity, resulting in its cargo and mail load factor improving 1.8 points to 70.5 percent.
   'Demand out of Hong Kong and the Mainland held up well and our loads on key long-haul routes to Europe and the United States remained very high,' said Ron Mathison, Cathay Pacific's director and general manager cargo.
   'The introduction of our new twice-weekly freighter service to Beijing is helping us tap into the growing market in Northern China, while five extra freighter flights a week to Shanghai from Dec. 1 will give our Mainland business a further boost,' he said.
   After 11 months, Cathay has moved 1.09 million tons of cargo, up 7.6 percent from the same period 2005. The airline's cargo and mail load factor for the year so far has improved 1.5 points to 68.3 percent.
