Lines switch to Oakland on Asia/U.S. West Coast/South America link Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica, Hamburg Sud, Maruba and its subsidiary Compania Latino Americana de Navegacion are switching fortnightly westbound calls from San Francisco to Oakland on their joint weekly service calling Asia/U.S. West Coast/Mexico/West Coast South America.
   The “AMPAC” service uses 11 ships of about 2,000 TEUs and has a revised port rotation of Hong Kong; Shanghai; Busan; Vancouver, B.C.; Long Beach, Calif.; Manzanillo, Mexico; Puerto Quetzal; Buenaventura; Callao; Ilo (monthly); Antofagasta; San Antonio; Puerto Quetzal (fortnightly); Manzanillo; Long Beach (fortnightly); Oakland, Calif. (fortnightly); Seattle, Wash. (fortnightly); Vancouver, (fortnightly); Keelung and back to Hong Kong.
   Earlier this week Hamburg Sud said its U.S./South Pacific islands “South Seas” service is also switching from San Francisco to Oakland.
