YRC board member steps down

   Having helped complete the refinancing of YRC Worldwide, Harry Wilson has resigned from the carrier’s board of directors so that a transportation expert can take his place.
   “This was a complicated set of financial transactions that had to be completed in a short period of time and all the while we stayed totally focused on preserving 32,000 jobs,” Harry Wilson, who currently serves as the chairman and chief executive officer of MAEVA.
   Wilson had been on the board since 2011, recently leading the corporate debt negotiations.
   Under a restructuring agreement reached in 2011, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters can nominate two members to YRC’s board. YRC officials are planning to meet with the Teamsters about Wilson’s replacement.
