Gaines named president of Yellow Transportation

Gaines named president of Yellow Transportation    YRC North American Transportation has named Phil Gaines to president of Yellow Transportation.
   Gaines will oversee a range of national, regional and international services for the movement of industrial, commercial and retail goods for the YRC Worldwide subsidiary.
   Prior to this appointment, Gaines was senior vice president and chief financial officer for YRC North American Transportation. He started his career with the company in 1989, and has held numerous senior management positions.
   Ken Bowman, formerly vice president of finance for Roadway, has replaced Gaines as senior vice president of finance for YRC North American Transportation. He joined the company in 2002, and has worked in a variety of finance and accounting positions supporting both Yellow Transportation and Roadway.
   These changes are effective immediately, said the Overland Park, Kan.-based company in a July 11 statement.
