No let-up in growth for Hong Kong    The port of Hong Kong saw its container throughput soar 17 percent year-on-year in June, to 1.9 million TEUs, according to traffic estimates released by the Hong Kong marine department.
   After uneven growth rates during the first four months of the year, Hong Kong increased its traffic by nearly 20 percent in both May and June, bringing box throughput for the first six months of the year to 10.9 million TEUs, an increase of 12 percent over the same period in 2003.
   Container traffic at Hong Kong’s Kwai Chung terminals rose 14 percent in June to 1.1 million TEUs, while other terminals increased their volume by 21 percent to an estimated 847,000 TEUs.
   For the first six months Kwai Chung container facilities handled 6.2 million TEUs, an increase of 6 percent, whereas other terminals in Hong Kong raised their traffic 21 percent to 4.8 million TEUs.
