U.S., Mexico to hold supply-chain improvement meetings    The U.S. Trade and Development Agency will sponsor four one-day U.S.-Mexican supply-chain security and management symposia later this year and in early 2005.
   Other sponsors of the meetings are the U.S. Commercial Service and the Mexican Trade Council.
   “The objective of the symposium series is to bring together key supply-chain decision makers across the U.S.-Mexican border to engage in a lasting dialogue designed to improve supply chain security and integration, and to increase trade,” the USTDA said.
   The agency added that each symposium will outline ways to “successfully manage new import and export requirements, and present methods for achieving a higher level security without disrupting trade.”
   More than 600 Mexican companies will be invited to participate in the symposia, along with U.S. shippers, such as Procter & Gamble, DaimlerChrysler and Oracle. Other organizations such as the Business Anti-Smuggling Coalition, are also scheduled to attend.
   The schedule for the meetings are Nov. 30 in Mexico City; Dec. 2 in Monterrey; Jan. 25 at Guadalajara; and Jan. 27 in Tijuana.
