Mobile building bridge to new container terminal The Port of Mobile said starting Friday, Ezra Trice Boulevard between Virginia Street and the north side of the Yeend Street railroad track crossing will be closed for the construction of an access bridge serving the new container terminal.
   The bridge is being constructed to provide unencumbered access across the CSX railroad mainline for both employees and freight moving to and from the new container terminal and McDuffie Terminal.
   About one half-mile stretch of Ezra Trice Boulevard will be affected by the road closing. All Ezra Trice Boulevard traffic accessing McDuffie Terminal, Mobile Area Water & Sewer Clifton C. Williams Wastewater Treatment Plant, Mobile River Terminal and Mobile Container Terminal will be routed from Virginia Street or Broad Street to Baker Street, then onto Yeend Street.
   The Alabama State Port Authority began construction on the Mobile Container Terminal access bridge in March. The $11.9 million bridge is expected to be completed by August 2009.
