$200M terminal project planned for Bahamas A new container and cruise terminal that would cost $200 million is being planned for development on the southwest side of New Providence Island, the island where the capital city of Nassau is located.
   The $200 million figure comes from a study conducted several years ago by the Inter-American Development Bank, which was looking at the cost of relocating Nassau's Bay Street Container Port.
   According to a report in the Nassau Guardian, that $200 million figure is still being quoted, with the new terminal expected to be located in southwest New Providence, near the old Clifton Pier site.
   Prime Minister Perry Christie has said the terminal relocation would provide an economic boost and would make way for a renovation of the existing Bay Street area, which would be transformed into a more tourist-friendly location.
