CP Ships board names Miles chairman, Halliwell CEO

CP Ships board names Miles chairman, Halliwell CEO    The board of directors of CP Ships Ltd., a London-based container shipping company, has appointed Ray Miles chairman and Frank Halliwell chief executive officer.
   Miles had been CEO of CP Ships. Halliwell had been chief operating officer.
   The former chairman of CP Ships Ltd., Lord Weir, has been appointed lead independent director. Ian Webber continues as the company’s chief financial officer.
   The previously announced management changes followed a meeting of shareholders. The board of directors agreed to extend, for a further year, the terms of Lord Weir and John McNeil beyond the normal retirement date of 70 years for non-executive directors.
