RoRoCo starting Harwich/Ostend ferry link

RoRoCo starting Harwich/Ostend ferry link RoRoCo nv will Tuesday start a daily roll-on/roll-off service between Harwich International Port in the United Kingdom and Ostend, Belgium.
   The service will initially use one ferry, the Flanders Way, which has a capacity of 1,045 freight lane meters and can accommodate up to 78 trailers, offering a daily morning sailing. RoRoCo plans to add a second vessel soon for evening operations to provide a total of 11 sailings per week.
   RoRoCo also operates services from Ostend to terminals in Killingholme and Dartford in the United Kingdom.
   “This is the first time since 2000 that Harwich International Port has been able to offer a direct, scheduled service to Belgium,” said David Gledhill, chief operating officer of Hutchison Ports (UK) Ltd., which owns Harwich International Port. “We hope that hauliers will recognize the strategic advantages of using a port that is able to offer services to both Holland and Belgium in their day-to-day route planning.”
