IAG sees cargo fall in September

   In September, IAG flew 467 million cargo ton kilometers, a 7.2 percent drop from the same period last year.
   So far this year, IAG has seen its cargo tonnage down 8.2 percent from 2012.
   Cargo revenue for September is down 4.1 percent, and for the year, revenue is off 2012’s mark by 3.9 percent. Capacity has fallen 2.1 percent, year to date, compared to the same period in 2012.
   For September, load factor is off by 1 point at 74.9 percent.
   The biggest cargo disappointment for IAG has been Iberia, which saw its September cargo tonnage fall, year over year, by 20.2 percent. For the first nine months of 2013, results are down by 16.2 percent. British Airway’s cargo activity is off 2012 levels so far this year by 6.3 percent.
