Zumiez takes e-commerce to Kansas

   Zumiez, a specialty retailer of sports related apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories, will relocate its e-commerce fulfillment operations from the company’s headquarters in Everett, Wash., to the Kansas City area this May.
   Zumiez will lease a 153,000-square-foot space and create 100 new jobs in the area. Zumiez said it is moving to better address its online business needs and increase the speed of products it delivers throughout the United States.
   “The move to Kansas means that, across the continental U.S., our customers should receive their Zumiez order in three days or less,” said Marc Stolzman, Zumiez chief financial officer, in a statement.
   As of Jan. 28, the company operates 434 stores in the United States and 10 in Canada.
