2 Americans found dead on Maersk Alabama

   Two American security workers were found dead Tuesday in a cabin on the Maersk Alabama, according to numerous news reports.
   The two men, both 44, worked for Trident Group, a maritime security and training company based in Virginia.
   In a statement on the company’s website, Trident Group Chief Executive Officer and President Thomas Rothrauff confirmed the deaths of the contractors while the vessel was pierside in the Seychelles.
   “Seychelles authorities are conducting a full investigation of the circumstances surrounding the incident. There is no immediate indication as to the cause of death, but the deaths were not caused by operational activity,” Rothrauff said.
   Maersk, in a statement, repeated that the deaths are still under investigation.
   The security contractors were reportedly former Navy SEALs and boarded the vessel on Jan. 29. The ship berthed in the Port of Victoria on Feb. 17, according to Reuters.
