Evergreen: Higher Europe-to-Med rates    Evergreen has announced another round of rates increases for eastbound cargo moving out of Europe.
   The Nov. 1 hikes follow Oct. 1 increases. Evergreen said they are “essential to bring freight rates to a sustainable and viable level.”
   ' Eastbound Europe-to-Mediterranean rates will go up $75 per 20-foot container (50 euro or '40), and $150 (100 euros or '80) on Nov. 1. The increases apply to all cargo and commodities, including reefers and special equipment. Evergreen in September announced rate hikes effective Oct. 1 from North Europe ports to the Med.
   ' For cargo moving from Europe and the Mediterranean to the Far East (including Japan and Australia), Middle East (Red Sea and Gulf), and Indian Subcontinent eastbound rates will increase $150 per container, also effective Nov 1. The increases apply to all cargo and commodities, including reefers and special equipment. This follows rate increases effective Oct. 1.
