Horizon Lines adjusts surcharges for U.S./Puerto Rico    Charlotte-based Horizon Lines is implementing changes to its bunker and intermodal fuel surcharges in the U.S./Puerto Rico trade in January.
   Effective Jan. 9, Horizon Lines will decrease its bunker surcharge from $260 to $240 per 20-foot container. “Bunker fuel has recently declined due to greater supply worldwide led by improving output from the Gulf of Mexico although OPEC will again reduce output which could drive prices higher in the near future,” Horizon Lines said in a statement.
   Also on Jan, 9, Horizon Lines will be increasing the intermodal surcharge as follows:
   * Zone 1 (Florida, New Jersey, Texas): $30 from $25 per 20-foot container.
   * Zone 2 (Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Rhode Island) $70 from $55 per 20-foot container.
   * Zone 3 (Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia) $100 from $85 per 20-foot container.
   * Zone 4 (Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Wisconsin) $110 from $95 per 20-foot container.
   * Zone 5 (All other States, Canadian Provinces, Mexico) $120 from $105 per 20-foot container.
   The intermodal surcharge increases are designed to recover costs incurred by the carrier earlier in the year, Horizon Lines said.
