World Airways to resume pilot negotiations, seeks extension from Nasdaq    World Airways said Tuesday it will meet Jan. 23 with its pilots’ representatives, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, at the offices of the National Mediation Board.
   The airline and the Teamsters have been trying to negotiate a new contract since 2003, and have continued talks under the auspices of the NMB since January 2004. Federal mediators released the two sides from mediation process with a 30-day cooling off period Dec. 28.
   World Airways has 430 pilots operating widebody passenger and cargo aircraft for its U.S. military and commercial customers. Under terms of the pilots’ existing contract, transport for the military would continue uninterrupted even during a work stoppage.
   In a separate development, World Air Holdings, parent company of World Airways, has requested a listing extension from the Nasdaq stock exchange, until Feb. 14. Nasdaq had initially given the company until Dec. 15 to file an amended quarterly report with the Securities and Exchange Commission or be delisted from the exchange but has since granted two extensions.
