The unionized dockworkers threatened to boycott any vessels carrying Israeli goods to protest Israel’s military incursion into the Gaza Strip last month. The union workers did not give 48 hours notice of their intention to strike, a legal violation, but said they would go through with the strike anyway, leading the port authority to arrange non-union workers to unload the goods.
