Reuters also called 'erroneous' claims made in a letter by H. Onuki, general manager of MOL public relations office in Tokyo, to American Shipper, that comments by Kenichi Yonetani, MOL's senior managing executive officer, regarding MOL's container business were misinterpreted. American Shipperpublished a report on MOL's comments in the June 8Shippers' NewsWire.
'Reuters News stands by its report as an accurate reflection of Mr. Yonetani’s comments,' the news service said in it's statement Wednesday.
Reuters also said it was not contacted by American Shipper before issuing MOL's comments.
