Collar to head Crowley technical services unit

Collar to head Crowley technical services unit Crowley Maritime Corp. has named Steve Collar senior vice president and general manager of its new technical services business unit.
   The non-asset, knowledge-based unit will bring together the company's vessel construction and naval architecture, government services and ship management services operations. Collar, a long-time Crowley employee, will report directly to Tom Crowley, company chairman, president and chief executive officer.
   'Organizing this new business unit with Steve at the helm will allow us to have better focus, leadership and commercial direction for these areas of our business,' Crowley said. 'We can provide a higher degree of service and value to commercial and government customers through our Technical Services group.'
   The company said Ed Schlueter, vice president of vessel management services; Jay Brickman, vice president of government services; and Cole Cosgrove, general manager of ship management; will report to Collar.
