DHS seeks plan to share threat info with trade    The Commercial Operations Advisory Committee has created a subcommittee at the request of the Department of Homeland Security to identify industry requirements for information sharing related to threat notices, prevention and continuity plans for a terrorist attack on the commercial transportation sector.
   President Bush’s new National Maritime Security Strategy requires the government to engage in disaster contingency planning with the private sector. DHS officials at Friday’s COAC meeting said they wanted the international shipping community to give them an idea of the type of information companies would require in the immediate aftermath of a terrorist attack or other disaster, and how to disseminate it, that would help businesses decide whether or how to continue shipping and transport operations.
   Jonathan Gold, vice president global supply chain policy for the Retail Leaders Industry Association, was named to head the Information Requirements subcommittee, which will coordinate its efforts with the Coast Guard’s National Maritime Security Advisory Committee.
