“Carriers are bracing for a weak peak season this year as demand growth has eased since the third quarter of 2010, while vessel supply has surged over the same period,” Alphaliner said.
It expects ships with 1.34 million TEUs capacity, an 8.7 percent increase, will be delivered this year and 1.44 million TEUs in 2012.
